Where Film Meets Technology

Alex’s story starts in two different worlds.

On one side, he grew up in a family of actors and spent time on film sets from a young age. Acting, filmmaking, and storytelling were part of his life early on. On the other side, he was drawn to math, science, and technology. He studied math and computer science, started his career as a software engineer at Goldman Sachs, and later worked at Square, where he began focusing more deeply on AI engineering.

For a long time, those two sides of his life existed in parallel. By day, he worked in technology. By night, he pursued acting, theater, and filmmaking.

Eventually, those worlds came together.

That intersection became the foundation for FilmPro, a platform built to support filmmakers during one of the most important and demanding phases of the creative process: pre-production.

Making Pre-Production Easier

Before a film reaches the screen, there is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes.

Filmmakers have to break down scripts, plan locations, organize props, prepare schedules, manage budgets, and make sure the entire team understands the vision.

One of the biggest takeaways from the conversation is that AI should not replace the artist.

Instead, it should help remove repetitive and time-consuming tasks so creatives can focus on the work that matters most: telling great stories.

The director still leads the vision. The actors still bring the emotion. The team still brings the craft. AI simply helps make the process more efficient.
