Redefining Wealth: The 4 Pillars
Many founders get stuck in the "grind," chasing a number in a bank account while sacrificing everything else. Brandon challenges this by introducing the four pillars of a truly wealthy life:
Financial: The assets needed to provide security and fuel your vision.
Physical Health: Without your health, money loses its utility. Wealth should be used to support your physical well-being.
Connections: Real wealth is found in our relationships with family, loved ones, neighbors, and the community
Perspective: How you see the world. It is the ability to maintain an expansive view of wealth that cannot always be measured.
Ethics Over Ego
A major theme of our conversation was the role of ego in financial decision-making. Brandon pointed out that many entrepreneurs feel pressured to join massive Multi-Family Offices just because of the status associated with them at "the club".
Conscious wealth is about asking: "Do I actually need this, or is this an ego-driven distraction?". Brandon’s firm, much like SAGE, operates as a boutique shop. By staying independent, they provide a "Virtual Family Office" experience that is flexible and tailored to a founder's actual needs, not just their status.
Aligning Your Business With Nature
Brandon shared a practical example of how he restructured his own team to mirror nature by flattening hierarchies. In nature, everything has a role, not just a title. By focusing on responsibilities rather than rigid "Head of" titles, his team "lit up," finding more clarity and fulfillment in their work.
